Dr Gemma Hurst

Gemma is a Senior Lecturer in Health Psychology at Staffordshire University, England, where she is the Director of the MSc Health Psychology. She is a Registered Health Psychologist with the Health Care Professions Council and a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society. Gemma’s research interests focus on measuring the impact of environment exposures on health and wellbeing and exploring the wider determinants of health in relation to health inequality. She is also experienced in evaluating health promotion programs and behaviour change interventions.

Gemma has worked on European projects investigating the positive impact of natural environments and has experience in engaging with a variety of audiences about this topic. She has a keen interest in applying knowledge to make a difference in real world settings.
